Street legal ATV's in Florida
#1
I am trying to get laws changed that would allow ATV's to be ridden on the road in Florida. I did start an online petition on the subject at change.org. I have also contacted my local state representative. Has anyone out there gone through a similar process? If so, what are some tips to getting this accomplished? Also, if you are interested in signing the petition please do. The more the merrier, and maybe it will turn into a nationwide thing, in stead of a few states.

I don't see that here. What I have seen is people on scooters doing a "power tuck" so they can go 30 in a 55. The only good things I can say about them is, they do use helmets, and I have not been going the same way as them.

It is about atv's. I see alot of people selling them becuse they don't have time to ride them. I was saying that scooters can't go half as fast as some quads, yet they are street legal. I am all for making the mods, lights, horn, tires, to make them compliant with state laws. Are you in Florida?

I have heard of people being concerned with stability, but I have also heard that changing the tires changes the ride. GBC currently makes D.O.T. approved tires for ATV's. I do not have any personal experience with street tires on an ATV, but I could handle it with the factory set-up. I don't see the ride quality going down with these tires. As far as the visibility goes, there is bright and reflective riding gear to help out as well as riding with your lights on. Is there still risk involved? Absolutely, but it is cut down by using sense, and awareness.
