What do you think is the best approach for tie down in a enclosed trailer two machines end to end wheel bonnets or frame tie downs ?

Never used any of the wheel capture methods. I have found well placed ratchet straps to the frame work extremely well, if not quite as convenient.

i've always put a strap across the frame both front and back and try to hook them so it's pulling away rather then down. i've seen a lot of people just throw straps over top but to get it tight you have to compress the suspension which i don't really like

I've never had an enclosed trailer so I don't know how many tie-downs there are, but I always use as many as possible. I use soft-strap tie-downs for the handlebars and regular metal hook tie-downs for the frame. No ratchets for me tho - I just use the regular (cam?) type. I also use two wheel chocks per machine at opposite sides (i.e left front and right rear).

Probably overkill, but it doesn't take long and gives me peace of mind.
