I've never seen a Kymco dealership either. I checked on their website and there's one 50+ miles from here. I can get most if not all of the major brands a lot closer. There was a place a couple of miles away that sold most brands but since it closed I have to drive 20 miles to the dealership. That's still a lot better than 50 some miles.

Polaris 450
Once she learns how to ride if she rides that much you can switch the computers out and bump that bike up to about the same power as a 700.
There is a guy on Polaris forum that can flash the computer. The 450 is the same motor as the 570 but it has a rev limiter on it. Switch it to 91 octane you add 16 hp. Almost double what it has from the factory.

I'm guessing he didn't want to spend that much money. At one time we were discussing a used 250ex or Kymco Mongoose, quads in the $1500 range. A Sportsman 450HO will be at least $5000 for a non-eps model, eps will add about another $1000. One I thought about recommending would have been a Yamaha Wolverine 450 4x4. Its fully auto with push button 4x4 and about the same size and weight as a 2wd Honda Rancher 350. I had one myself once and it was a fun quad. Not the fastest on top end, 50 mph is about top speed but more than fast enough for trail riding and good low and midrange power. With a smaller and lighter rider, it would feel even more peppy as I weigh about twice as much as his gf does. A used Wolverine 450 will cost in the $3000 range for one in good condition so still more expensive than something like a 250ex but I think it would be a great choice.
Here is the link to the ecm upgrade if anyone wants to read about it.

Custom tunes do help a lot. Have a G6 V6 I ordered a 93 octane turn for a upped my pickup truck and changed the shifting points. Woke that F150 up.
With that 450 get that turn, add a cluth kit you have almost the same HP as a 800 but the advantage of a lighter bike or ATV.
i"m not into the high HP on ATVs but if later on the GF wants it I'll upgrade her bike to that 16 Additional HP just by having that computer flashed. She's be able to outrun me with the 570 but I"m happy being able to ride 40 mph so won't mess with mine.
Just my views, picking up a used 450 and adding that tune and clutch kit is the best bang for the buck in all around power for the money I have seen on these forums.
You also get the bigger frame by going to at least a 450. Lot more options for tires, aftermarket upgrades ect. and having a 250 to what I own now see the advantages.
