Default 95 Polaris Trailboss 250 Pvt

I have a 95 trailboss 250, and the Cvt ( or Pvt ) has been grinding on the plastic covering for about a week now. I took the atv out today to ride around and when Ibclimbed a hill the pvt was grinding and it just turned off.
Now the atv wont start. Any help?

Check for damaged/soft motor mounts first, especially the front one for any engine movement. If the motor mounts are ok,then just get a later model used cover off ebay. They're a little oversize around the clutches to eliminate excess heat and have better air flow. The older ones had the covers that were molded too closely to the shape of the drive clutch, the plastic was weaker to begin with and heat would warp the covers and clutches would grind against them at an idle. The later models are stronger and larger. Here's one that would work.05 Polaris Trailblazer Trailboss Magnum Sport Scrambler Outer Clutch Guard Cover | eBay
