Experience with a local dealer

That's generally true, within each class, but the Scrambler XP 1000 has exactly the same horsepower as the Outlander DPS 1000R, Outlander XT 1000R, Outlander XT-P 1000R, Outlander Mossy Oak Hunting Edition 1000R, Outlander Max XT 1000R, Outlander XT-P 1000R, Outlander Max Limited, Outlander X mr 1000R, and Renegade X mr 1000R, and the Sportsman XP 1000 has one horsepower more than any of them.
They are to under built and from what iv seen are consistently breaking. I know where their are 3 locally with broken frames. From talking to people locally about 40-50% of them are very unhappy with their machine.

Even if your book does not have it staple a sheet of paper in it and track everything. I enter everything into the book, bearings, boots, whatever i do to the machine. If i sell it this will show next owner that it has had a good maintenance history

Unfortunately i do not put Polaris in the same class as anything

You know, this single seat Polaris ACE may be a significant game changer for the industry. It is 50" wide, so it goes on ATV trails here in Colorado. It has a more comfortable seat, a steering wheel, and a roll cage. And it has a longer wheelbase with a lower center of mass. All good things for stability on the trails. I see they introduced a 800cc machine now. The 1000 can't be too far behind. I'll bet other manufacturers will follow Polaris' lead.
Yes, I keep good maintenance records on all my vehicles. I do so to build potential buyer's confidence that the vehicle has been maintained by the book, and also a record of what broke and why.

Hawkeyes were made by Aeon, same mfg that made Polaris youth models. Frames were weak along with rear suspension. They made it even worse when they jumped from the 300 engine and mated the Fugi 400 engine,Hawkeye gear case and called it a Sportsman 400.

I thought it was Aeon but wasn't 100% sure if it was them or some other Taiwanese company. I just knew someone made them in Taiwan and it wasn't Polaris. All the Polaris made ATVs I've seen had good solid frames.
