hey I'm looking for a repair manual for a 2001 sportsman 500 ho. I've put this engine into a fl350 and need to no the detailed procedures for priming the oil pump.

Just clamp the vent line at the top of the oil tank(close to the tank nipple) with vice grips.Crank the engine up for a couple minutes and release the vice grips. You may or may not hear an air hiss from the oil tank,but the pump is primed.

 

Sounds easy enough, since I don't even have the vent line on yet, I'll simply run a plug into it. I appreciate your reply, if by chance someone has a PDF version repair manual for this engine, I would be happy to get that too!
