Default 2000 SP500 tie rods

Hello all. new to the forum. i did a bit of work to my 500 this weekend and i did a big no no when it comes to taking apart something you're not familiar with. i tore everything apart and now i cannot remember how the inner tie rod ends mount. I believe one of the tie rod ends were either on top or below of the steering mount. I cannot find any pictures online. PLEASE HELP!

See if this helps.Anytime you replace or remove tie rods or ends, adjust the tires toe in/out.

I wanted to ask though, why do they do it this way? I found some pictures of newer 500s and they looked to both be inside the steering shaft bolted down. Why does the driver side get bolted underneath with a spacer in the middle?

Part of this had to do whenever they changed the steering posts. Early models had a plastic lower mounting block like yours, later models had a larger diameter post that rode in a bearing plate. Plus tie rods and ends changed over the years also.
