Default Looking for tire recommendation - Wildcat Trail 700 - On/Off Road Use

Our SxSs are street legal, and we’re a few miles of tar away from lots of great trails. Mostly gravel and rock. Watery mud, nothing majorly thick. We’re up in the mountains. GBC Kenati Mongrel the only way to go? Any other players?

I like the Bighorns, but the tread pattern, and gap between the lugs in particular, worries me in regards to jagged rocket terrain. Also, how do they hold up to on road use?

Lastly, do I have enough power to spin 27s without issue? The extra ground clearance would be nice. Or should I stick to 25s or 26s?

12 inch rims that I’m not looking to change.

Thanks in advance for any tips.

My son has an Arctic Cat Wildcat Trail 700, and it is a great machine. After spending a fair amount of time in his UTV, on the same terrain, my recommendation would be ITP Teracross in a 26" size.

You'll only gain you 1/2" more clearance with 27" tires instead of 26", and they usually cost more, sometimes lot more for that little difference. Just something to consider when tire shopping for any vehicle.

Depending on what brand of tire you use and what is on the unit now you could get a min of 1/2 more clearance or more. Some tires are a true measurement while others are a guess at best.. I run a traxion gripper on my machine its a bighorn clone.. i have one set with about 10000 km on them and another with about 5000 km and both sets still have lots of life on them.. Great all around tire.. I have a buddy that had about 10 on his bighorns and their was still lots of life left when he changed them out.. If you do a google search guys have been running up to 30's with no issues. Personally i would go up to a 28 and don't think you would be disappointed with a bighorn or traxion gripper style tread pattern.. The bighorns are a heavier tire
