How fast will the the 660 rhino go if you take the speed limiter/ rev limiter/ govener off and throw it away. and then put the rev limiter from the grizzley 660 on the rhino. and what other performance parts can i get for it. and does anyone make a bigbore kit or a lift kit for it. also is there a company that makes a full cab for it, windows, doors, stereo, heater, whatnot

I am very interested in your project and would certainly like to learn more about any products you might end up promoting through your involvement.

Great news,

John

Note: I would also caution everybody concerning the Grizzly cdi box, as mentioned here earlier. I have one for sale if you just can't wait for the aftermarket, as I did. I recently got kicked off a site for accidently getting into the middle of a business deal between two people negotiating to sell these things and they are truly out there for a reason. It seems that few people have had the kahunas to just come out and tell you this; even though they have had this knowledge for quite some time now (as you know, "greed" does funny things to people).

Looks like they will be sending one out to me to start the R&D work. I will be building a 740cc motor with a cam, valve springs, big valve head, two 39mm carbs and pipes.

We all knew somebody would hop this thing up big time (I've even been hoping for a small scale utility vehicle racing series) and am glad they took the "easy" way out and farmed the job out to somebody with a decent reputation. I think the area I will be most interested in keeping an eye on is how these different companies approach the suspension market and (most importantly) why they feel their set-up is the way to go, as compared with others.

If you don't have professional quality steering control and a ride to go with it......it seems pretty ridiculous (almost dangerous) to give the Rhino any more horsepower (as most believe it is a fine machine out the door).

Best of luck with a project you can be certain we are all interested in hearing about (while hoping this is not a 'one-off' for the president's garage!).

Thanks again for the info,

John

Elka has worked on this project for a while and now they are for some power. I was told that it needs to be for short course racing

This is going to be one fun event to watch; I think they're on to something, also.

Why not? They will dominate the class until Arctic Cat, Honda (narrow footprint with hydraulic drive?) and others come forward with their first-year machines and they will all definitely be somewhat behind. What a great way to get your name out there and tout it as a company who flat out innovates (tell me who made anything like the Raptor, Grizzly, Rhino or a mass produced 450; before all these groundbreakers first hit the showroom floor?).

Sounds like Elka will be my first choice for suspension upgrades if they have had their hands in this for that long and I certainly appreciate the heads up.

John

My first question to Elka would be....is it possible to give us this type of performance http://www.elkasuspension.com/english/elite.html and if not, why bother?

Initial "price" is not going to be an issue with this product (save a flooded competitive situation) as the market for properly suspending these things is screaming for something to quickly be brought forward that allows us to open our Rhinos up without swapping ends (steering stabilization being the other hot product, in my mind).

Specific tires would be nice, although I think the Holeshot ATR and Bighorn Radials (26" supposedly out in Sept.) will work just fine for a cheaper, mass-produced substitute in most (backyard) race conditions.
