i have a 2001 scrambler 500, and i must say, i do love it. its fast, like a sport, but really tough like a utility. very versatile. the automatic transmission is fantastic! the belt system really impresses me. it by far exceeds my expectations, and i encourage you to start a dealership with polaris as a supplier.

hey BareTread why dont u shut your mouth about your hondas, he didnt ask about a honda ...ok... so we dont need your opinion. and if all your gonna do is say honda is so good this soo good that then stay in your honda forum. hondas are not number 1 anymore i dont care what you think by far yamaha has passed them up. i know honda is by far the most reliable but thats all they got other companies have caught up in reliability and surpassed them in comfort and ability.

Check with Honda Barethread. Polaris is number one in Alaska and last time I read anything they were number one in the USA if you just counted ATV's and did not include dirt bikes.

Many, I mean many of us where I live go with Polaris. We do because our Honda dealer sucks. Our polaris dealer is much better and we think Polaris is a better product. The funny thing is, this same Honda dealer sells everything but the Yams, so he really is only hurting himself. Our Polaris dealer allso sells the Polaris sleds and Husky MX bikes.
I'm a first time quad owner - I looked at them all - and I will buy a Polaris for my next quad too.

I own two and they are great. Polaris is continually upgrading their machines and line up and listen to the customers. I recomend them and would buy another!

The ONLY reason why Hondu is number 1 (at least it was a few years ago, it could be different now) is because of the brand loyalist Hondu owners that think their low tech old school 350cc full time 3wd machines with 4 inches of suspension travel are gods gift to man. Blind loyalty is what is keeping Hondu alive.

O.k Im going to go overboard here.. Polaris makes a great product I feel. I have owned 2 and Am very pleased with the 04 Sportsman We have now. HOWEVER, I feel Polaris has some of the WORST dealers and tech help in the industry. 2 dealers I bought mine from were just totally ignorant to the needs of the polaris machines. A partsman at one dealer didnt know what shims were??? I mean these are CRITICAL to the clutching of these machines. I heard another tell a customer the only difference between an HO and a NON HO 500 was the carb. And Yet another Experience I had was the TEchnician telling me that a 425cc 4-stroke was supposed to foul plugs if it's left ideling for over 5 minutes.
I applaud your Effort in this, but IF you do this, Please dont just rely on the same people you have repairing lawnmowers, etc.. to repair or do warranty work/setup on the quads. It leaves a VERy sour tatse in peoples mouths And I personally have gone nuts telling people not to Visit particular dealerships.

Unfortunately most dealers hire youngsters with little or no experience to save a few bucks. I find this to be true of all brand dealers. I dont understand the mentalility of this. A recent example is when I went to my local dealer I had to get them to go to there computer and pull up Polaris's web page so I could show them the recent Polaris offer that gives you double the warranty on a purchase made now till 31 Dec. A visit to the Suzuki dealership to find a King Quad and the salesperson told me it was a Vtwin with 2 carbs. Another visit to our Honda store and I was told all Honda quads only have disc brakes. I have no idea why employess dont take the time to learn more about there products.
