Default Rhino vs Ranger

I know there is a similar thread below but I am trying to decide specifically between the Rhino & the Ranger
4x4. I have always run Yamaha products & have been very pleased but the additional capacity of the Ranger,
both in persons & in cargo has me looking in that direction too. I have driven both & found the Rhino
to be more comfortable ( I am a big guy) but the Ranger is somewhat better than others like the Mule which
I found very uncomfortable. I'll mostly be using this for hunting, hauling feed, seed & fertilizer ect for food
plot work, moderate work around the house/farm and plenty of joyriding around the farm & hunting club too.
I have 2 sons & I also take my father.

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

In the April issue of either Dirt Wheels or ATV Action (sorry, don't have the mag right in front of me), didn't they do a shootout between these???

Yea in Dirtwheels. They said for more work oriented the Ranger would be better and it rode smoother. The Rhino out performed it even with a smaller motor and was more sportier. For what you listed the Rhino will do the work needed and will still go out for a fun ride every now and then. Plus the Rhino is 1000 cheaper

Dirtwheels also said they had a few problems with the Ranger but nono with the Rhino.

Default Rhino vs Ranger

my buddy had a ranger last year and it was very troublesome seems like he had it in the shop more then he drove it. i can't say anything bout the rhino yet until i buy one but at least polaris has the independent rear suspension now so they got about twice the groundclearance they once had. i have driven the ranger quite a few times and it wasn't a bad machine can't see myself personally spending that kind of money on it, it didn't exactly wow me with the power. now polaris has the 700 in the rangers and my cousin works on D line at polaris (the line they make the 6x6's and rangers) and she told me she likes the 500 way better the 700 you can either do 0 or 20 mph there is no happy medium and it shatters when trying to drive really slow, which could possibly be fixed with clutching.
