250cc Dune Buggies
#1
I am looking into getting a 250cc ,double seat, Dune buggie. I was wondering how well they are made. I know that they are all the same gokart but with different names. The one with no rear suspension is suposedly faster but the one with IRS looks better built. Also what kind of Mods are availiable for these ? Thanks.

i have a peirspeed 252,very well made, but it still not perfect, its great for two people its 63 inches wide , only real problem is its really heavy, over 700lbs,i installed new pipe and muffler k&n airfilter, rejetted and added new front tires, this thing a blast to drive, go to www.buggynews.com and read what other people are buying and their problems their having, the price on e-bay runs around 2200-2400, from a dealer 3700+ good luck in choosing.

I'm pretty happy with my Joyner Sand Devil. It's the size of the smaller 150cc buggy's but with 250cc power. The only disadvantage with the I.R.S. buggy's is that they're either really wide(Pierspeed 63" vs the Sand Devil's 53") or they have a fixed gear ratio(i.e. the Twister 250 Hammerhead has no sprockets, therefore the gearing is not changeable).
