Rhino with moose plow, beware of mount!
#1
I just bought a moose 60 inch snow plow for my 2006 Rhino 660 and found out the mount U-bolts to the bottom of the frame right in the front. The kicker is, this mount has a 6 inch drop which completly takes away ground clearance. I can not even take my Rhino off flat ground without bottoming out on every little rut or rock. This mount must be removed before going off-road and then remounted with 4 U-bolts just to use this plow. Needless to say, this amounts to a very time consuming process that is very annoying. Beware of this type of mount!

Snow manufacturers may say to remove the mount, that is fine to remove in summer and replace in winter. Where I live, we use the rhino for farm work year round, it is impracticle to remove this mount every other day to go out on the farm, then remount it every other day to plow snow. Besides, I figured out how to modify this mount to work year round. By the way,( I don't complain,I thought this was a sight to give and receive information on Rhino's etc. including aftermarket parts. Maybe I was wrong. I was merely warning other rhino owners to this setup, especially owners who use their rhino's for work all year round).

I had the same problem with my rhino so I changed to the extended lift mount and bought the adapters for the old style push tubes. I only lose about an inch and a half now. I have no problems with the tracks on but with the tires I would hit rocks going down the road into my camp with the mount on. I have no problems now.
