Subscribe to this topic is always checked by default. I believe the old forum had a check box to disable that. Am I missing it somewhere? I don't necessarily want to create a filter to kill all updates because I've used that sometimes. And it's just a pain to uncheck the box.

There is no profile setting that controls if the checkbox is checked by default or not. It may be something I can add in the future but it won't be this week.

Your membership and the subscribe to a topic option are two different things.

I understand that. However, I am recieving emails regularly. How can i stop them WITHOUT cancelling my membership?

I NOW understand that when i open a new thread or respond to one (for the first time) that i need to uncheck the suscribe box. (should be the opposite, very annoying)

HOWEVER, i see no way to turn OFF subscription once it has been turned on. This means i will continue to get emails from a thread until i either can turn its subscription off or cancel my membership. Is there another way?

MEMBERSHIP CANCELLATION APPEARS TO BE MY ONLY OPTION RIGHT NOW

I just found "Topic Tools", "subscriptions" , highlighted everything and selected delete. Seems like that should free me from the unwanted subscriptions. Sound right to you?
