Has anyone noticed that the cooling fan rarely comes on with these quads? I went on a 120 mile trip last weekend and I didn't notice the fan running at all. The two Foremen that I was with had the fans running often. The temperature of the day was about 60 degrees.

I rode 65 mi. and the temp. outside was 65 deg. The fan was on only once that I noticed and that was in 2nd gear running 8-12 mph. for a while. Other than that I havn't noticed it .

the 329cc engine just doesn't get that hot unless you are crawling for a long period of time. i have never seen/heard mine running.

I've also found if you are running at a good clip, 10+ MPH, and the ambient temp. is cool / warm, air flow around the engine will keep the engine cool without the fan.

However, when I am trail riding, I do notice the fan coming on for brief periods. At speeds less than 5 MPH, and on uphill climbs, the fan did come on. But I was suprised how quickly it cooled the machine. Only took a minute or two. Feels good in cool weather. Don't know about the summer though.

yeah, just heard mine for the first time the other night. Actually scared me, I totally forgot it had one and didn't know what the noise was. I was working mine pretty hard and at slow speeds, suppose it was on for 3 minutes or so.

The fan comes on about a hour or so while riding. Most of the riding is done slow 4-6 mph on trails. When it comes on it only runs for a minute or two, then shuts off.

I have a 450es, the fan is running constantly, when I am riding. All types of riding, fast and slow.

The fans don't come on much with Ranchers cause they are cool quads! In more ways than one.

My fan hardly ever comes on and my Buddy with the 450 his hardly shuts off. I guess maybe cause the Rancher has a smaller engine but holds more oil.

I have a rancher and the fan does not come on very often unless I am doing some hard pulling. Trail riding once an hour, pulling fence posts once every ten minutes
