Default should i get the 400ex?

my dad and i have reciently* bought a ozark and a kodiak 450 but i already need more power than the ozark. i really like the 400ex because its a honda and its been around for a few years. i know that its underpowered in the 400 class but i dont need anything that goes faster than that. ill be mostly riding on wooded trail and some sand pits and about 1/2 a foot of mud. so my question is should i save up and get the 400ex or should i get something else? by the way im 5'8 and 140.

400EX IS A GOOD TRAIL BIKE AND MX BIKE, PLENTY OF POWER FOR THAT WITH SOME SIMPLE MODS. I FIND IT TO BE VERY UNDER POWERED IN THE SAND.

????? Very Underpowered?

Ive riddin in the sand my whole life. Its not under powered at all in the sand. Yeah your going to get beat by banshees and Raptors, but that will happen on any 400. And its not much slower than the z400 at all. Its also a lot lighter and handles better.

I just got a 400ex to replace my raptor. I love it. I enjoy it so much more and its really reliable.

Buy the 400ex. Well worth it and you can get a new one for really cheap now.

I think a 400EX would be a good idea, a very reliable bike.

I find it rides good in the sand.

Are you being serious? What is underpowered in your mind? Ive never found a hill I cant get up in the dunes. They are just as fast as the more expencive 400s and it handles better. What does being cheap have to do with anything. You can buy a 350x for a little over a grand and its faster than a 400ex. Neither are underpowered at all though. So is the Z400 underpowered also? Every 4 stroke looses power in the sand. Its more ideal for 2 strokes. I have a 50+ hp beefed up Raptor. Its not underpowered, but the 400ex isnt that much slower. The 400ex handles way better too. Its also lighter so the lack of power isnt as knowticable.

It jsut seems like your saying the 400ex isnt suitable for the dunes. Like your not going to get up anything. What paddles do you have on your 400? Those big heavy wortless GBC's? Maybe thats why you are underpowered. If you have the right setup the 400ex will be more than ideal for the dunes. Its not a drag bike. might be underpowered for dragging I guess. Not if your dragging against 400z's though.
