I have the same issue with my 86, and 12v supplied straight to the fuel pump does nothing, my question is, the OEM replacement is kind of pricey, anybody ever use a qeneric inline fuel pump replacement? How important is the PSI, anybody know the PSI of the stock pump?

Bump!!

I have seen many with aftermarket automotive inline fuel pumps - they seem to work if you can find a way to fit them in........

Before jumping into buying a new pump, pull the end cover off the old pump and try cleaning the contacts inside - this pump works off of pressure and has a set of contact points that tell the pump when it needs to run - you may only have dirty contacts.

I am having some proplems with the fuel system on my trx 350d. When I turn the key on Sometimes I hear the fuel pump clicking and other time i do not. It seems that after it clicks several time the fuel filter will fill with gas. then it will start and run. when It does not click it will run until it runs out of gas in the filter and then maybe after five or ten tries to restart the motor the fuel pump will start clicking again and it will start. I read the previous post and took the end cap off the pump and watched the mechanism, when it got to to start clicking agian I noticed it sparking where the two peices od metal touched. Is sparking normal? It also appears to be very worn in that same place. I have a full tank of gas and there is no clog in the filter, lines, petcock or tank. I know that my carburator needs to be cleaned becuase it will only run with the choke on. I dont know if that matters.
Any Suggestions?

sorry if iam posting this in the wrong area am a bit confused so hope this works. the fuel pump on my 88 foutrax 350 runs all the time while running and over come the needle and seat, pours gas every where. have replaced the pump and relay, what shuts it down? thanks Todd

How much current should the fuel pump draw with the key in the on position? My pump works when I unplug the wires to the pump and apply direct 12v. re attach key on light green starter spins no gas pumping from the pump? any hints? You mentioned no spark no fuel pump is this true?

If the relay goes out will the pump keep running ? Mine just started to keep pumping and as long as the bikes running it keeps pumping
