how do you think this atv will do in a race. it is a 250x (or 300ex) engine inside of a entire 250r chassis. the 250x engine will also be bored out 350cc. i want to race GNCC, so how wide should the a-arms be, stock width or +2 inch? thanks in advance for all of your input.

Is this ATV already built? I mean is the 250x motor already installed in the R chassis.

The reason I ask is because installing a 250x motor in an R chassis is not easy. Well at least is wasn't for me.

If I had to do it over again I would sell all the parts I had on EBAY or something then I would go buy a 400ex and have fun.

its not built yet, but this place actually will make the engine fit inside of the frame, for only $300 so it will be done so i don't have to do the work.

I hope its not Rocky Ridge Racing.

I sent him my chassis back in 99 when I first want to do my 350rx conversion. He said no problem. After many many calls and a year later he finally sent my chassis back untouched.

So I had to figure out how to do it myself, which invloved lowering the bottom frame rails so that the geometry of the swingarm pivolt bolt and the contershaft sprocket were the same. Along with making motor mounts and other stuff.

Would you take a 350 out of a Corvette and replace it with a fourbanger out of a jeep ...? ...probably not .....so why would you want a 250X motor in a 250R chassis...seams like a waste of a good 250R...theres a limited supply of the left...it just seams wrong to ruin another one...even with a "built 250X" engine it won't even compare to the 250R's true potential....as Brad_L said...just get a 400EX.

not what i've seen, your all wrong, the 250x engine bored out to 350cc and put into a 250r chassis seems to work out very well and has won many races.

If you read my post it says "even with a "built 250X" engine it won't even compare to the 250R's true potential" ..you can make a 250X somewhat fast if your not into reliability and like spending a whole bunch of money on something than still it's gonna be that fast...a 250R engine with the same amount of $ into it is going to have way more power and still be reliable....and it's not like a 250X powerd 250R is gonna be superior to a 400ex....

TRX90's win races too but that doesn't mean **** against other quads....so saying 250X/250R conversions win some races doesn't mean anything...against real 250R's it's not going to be any contest...it's just not worth the money to me...if you want to spend all that money on little 250 fourstroke, good for you...I am just tryin to offer some help before you loose all that money...and cannot get it back because the resale value on something like this is usualy next to nothing.

i guess ypu don't know what your talking about, because it was against 250r's, raptors, 400ex's and z-400's, so i know what i'm talking about, just maybe you don't! i also want to do this because i don,t want to buy a whole 250r, just a chassis, and parts to make it go, i don't want to spend the extra money if i already have a good motor. now can i get some positive feedback.

Since you think you allready know everything why are you asking questions ?...your beyond help if you beleave this "thing" will even compare to a well ridden 250R...I have owned both...I have ridden modified 300EX's and 250X's and 250R's...unless your going to be going against americas worst riders you don't stand a chance in hell.
