I've noticed a lot of 250r's for sale in my area and from what I've read there pretty awsome. My use would be for sand hill shooting. I know banshees are great but 2 stroke maintanace is costly and banshees would be twice the parts and cost being a twin engine. So my question is how do the two compare power and speed wise for shooting hills? I also own a y2k 400ex that I will eventually make a 426. Maybee that is just as good. Your opinions please.

I believe the 250R is a 2 stroke as well. But it is a single cylinder.

I'm sure you already knew the 250r was a 2 stroke. but the banshee is better for dunes and a 250r is better for mx. later

I have ridden both at sand mountain , there is nothing that comes close to a banshee unless you want to put a bigbore kit in a 250r

99 426ex , Web Cam, FCR carb w/ twist, CT revlimiter, DMC exhaust, XCT's ,K&N, One kit, Renthal bars, DG nerfs, Armidillo Swingarm plate, 8 paddle Haulers
