Default Top end on 400EX stock?

I've got a 250EX and I'm looking to upgrade and give the 250 to my wife
What is the top end speed on the 400 stock?

Not the fastest. Who cares what the top speed is you are moving up from a 250ex to a 400ex big difference. If all you are worried about is speed buy a jet. Why don't you ask questions that matter like how does it handle or how well it wheelies or maybe even how reliable it is or ten thousand other questions. TOP SPEED DEPENDS ON HOW MUCH MONEY YOU WANT TO SPEND.

I gotcha. I know from what I've read on this forum, that it handles great, wheelies
great and is extremely reliable because it's a Honda People always say that the
400 doesn't measure up in terms of speed or torque, but I've never heard what
the speed was.

dang hutchies relax alittle I agree that thees TOP SPEED questions are point less.

Huge think about all the things you like about your 250ex. well the 400 ex has that and alot more. but like hutchies said if you are just wanting top speed you may have to keep looking

Thanks guys. I guess, never having been on one, I just wanted to make sure it
had some giddy up. It really gets a bad rap on this forum for being slow.
The 250 is a great little bike, but it's got me craving a lot more, so I was just
curious.

Thanks again.

My friend has a Kawasaki Prairie 650 with a speedometer. We ran together to
see how fast I could get the 250 going. It was on wet grass, I live in New England, but
he clocked me at 49 mph.
