1. The Yamaha YFZ 450
Hey Honda,
Good thing Cannondale went under and Yamaha still makes the Warrior! I'm beginning to believe the only reason you still make the 300ex is to make the 400ex look good.
[Banshee intentionally left off the list, it's in a league of it's own]
Here's your chance guys; What's your top ten reasons? Honda's reading this stuff daily, let em have it!

Then why don't you buy one of them and quit your bitching?

Not a flame,
But, when any of the above listed puts on the reliability show that the 400ex has, the success the 400ex has had on a track, and the ease of maintenance the 400ex has I will buy what you are selling. But that will take a few years. There is not a quad on your list that has been out for more than 3 years without a major hiderance, save the DS. One is a Auto?Rappy's have tranny's and the rest are brand new and showing more problems in the first year than you can find on 5 years of 400ex's
Keep Trying to put it down, its a good quad. Still one of the best.

It's irritating how much complaining is going on about the 400ex. Its a good quad. Honda will put out a new sport quad when there done with it, hopefully it will be just as reliable as the 400 ex. Its better they do that rather than rushing it out and you spend a fortune trying to fix everything that goes wrong with it.

For sure, Plus when it comes out ( hondas 450 or whatever they will build) you will hear the same bs about Suzuki, or Kawie, or Bomb. Still to this day there are really not even two quads built for the same purpose that you can compare apples to apples. Besides the KXF/LTZ/DVX ,they are all built for different things, or at least different people. 3 years ago people were bitching about not having a quad to compete against a 400ex, now they complain about something else. I am happy to have so many good choices.
My glass is half full, HOW ABOUT YOURS?
BTW : Is Aaron Rahlston missing an arm or does he have one arm?

What is funny is that everyone compares their quad to the 400EX. That is how great the 400EX is. So far, nothing has come out that totaly dominated over the Honda so I don't see why everyone is so excieted about the new YFZ. It will turn out like every other Yamaha, overhyped and won't live up to its billing. The smart money is on Honda's new quad. Whenever they decide that they need to release something new to compete with the others.

I am not bitching about the 400ex. I am bitching about Honda. Huge difference.
I bought my 400ex on Sept 7, 1998. CT did my 440 in Dec 98. The bike was awesome. [ I just sold it 2 weeks ago] Always ran and was a mid 40's hp bike. Rode MX, hare scrambles and lots of duning after I moved out to AZ. I think I just bought a 2000 today for $2800. I know with an extra $3000 I can build a GREAT, DEPENDABLE dune quad. I just want Honda to know that I want something more.
In a straight line, the 400ex is now the 13th fastest quad. That's not acceptable for your flagship performance atv.
The rusty wheel gets oiled first. I expect more from Honda and so should the rest of you.
If I didn't think that these posts were being viewed by Honda I wouldn't waste my time but since ALL of the manufacturers browse this site I know what I am saying is being heard. I am in advertising and my company does more Motorcycle ads than any other company in the world. I know how the factories study focus groups and opinion polls, this is being seen. If you want them to know how great the 400ex is, keep telling them. That may be all you ever get. Flame on if you think I'm off base, I'm a big boy.
