Default Will this fit on my 250ex?

I broke my shifter a week or two ago and I havent ordered anything yet cuz I just havent had time, but while I was at work, I was reading through the new Rocky Mt. ATV parts book and I ran across this...MSR Folding Shift Lever. They dont make one for my 250ex, but they do make one for the 300ex and the 400ex. I talked to one of my buddies about it and he said that pretty much all honda shifters should fit on each other and that the only difference was probably the length. Anyone know if he's right? they are only $20.65 as opposed to 32.00 for a regular stock one. I would really appreciate some info about this, Im itchin to get this thing runnin agian.

No the 250EX has a reworked recon motor, the 300EX And 250X are completely different, The shifter may fit the shaft but it will be way to close or way to far out, Just buy the one made for your bike so you dont have to send it back because it dont work..........
