Default 250ex help

I am 13 and looking to but a used atv without being ripped off. Now there is this guy in my area selling a 2001 250ex that is in great condition excpept that the tail light lense is broken. And the one other thing i noticed is that when i took it out for a ride the front squeaked like crazy. I guess this happens to alot of 250ex owners? Well anyways this guy bought it new in 2001 and has kept it nice. He is asking $2600 for it. Is this a good deal? How much work will it take to fix the squeak? And also my dad was kind of worried about buying a used 250x since it is 17 years old. Is it worth the extra money to buy a newer quad that will last longer when i have it? I am looking to keep this quad in the family for a while. Thanks. And by the way i need a response ASAP as i am going to look at more quads in a couple days. Thanks once again.
Matt

Default 250ex help

Matt, I can only speak of the 250EX. It's a great starter bike. Mine had the front
end squeek and it was annoying but once it went away I haven't heard it since.
It wheelies real easy, great for trail riding and whoops and small jumps are
no problem either. They are very low maintenance (change fluids and adjust
valves) and it should last forever.
