400ex with DMC exhaust
#1
I have a 400ex with a DMC full exhaust system,KaN filter with outerwear, no airbox lid, and a White Brothers rev kit. Right now i have a 40 pilot, clip lowered to the last notch, and a 165 main jet. The thing pulls pretty hard in first though forth gear, but once i hit fifth gear it seems like it doesn't want to pull.(like it's geared to high) I haven't changed my gearing or tires. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong?

Gearing, wind resistance. It takes alot of HP to go fast. as hopped up as my 400ex is it wont pull till it reaches the limiter in 5th. You are reaching the point where wind resistance exceeds the amount of HP you are making. Contrary to popular belief doubling your HP wont double your speed. The amount of HP needed to go faster isnt a constant straight line it actually curves up rapidly on a graph. The front fenders are two parachutes slowing you down. shaving them should be worth 5-8 mph on the top.
