Default Hotcams stage 1 or 2?

I am thinking about buying cams soon and in a month i'll be adding a high compression piston when i get more money. I was going to buy stage 2 cams but if i put them in with the stock piston will i loose all my bottom. Or should i get stage 1 and live with it?

A stage 2 wont lose any bottom end, my bro has one with stock piston and the torque increase was incredible!

I just put in a 10.8:1 stock bore JE piston and a stage 2 Hotcam. I won't get to ride it until Saturday, but just listening to it run, it sounds mean.... I'll give a full report after I've taken it for a spin.

chad400ex plz do let us know how it runs. I am doing the same mods exept i'll be using different gaskets so the compression will be bumped up to 11.2:1.

Okay....after the test run, this thing is awesome!!! It pulls so much harder than ever before. I never went past 3/4 throttle (still breaking it in), but I didn't need to....it just flat out hauled butt. I didn't notice any loss in bottom end power. I am running 14/38 gearing. It feels like a completely different machine.

Nope...a buddy of mine has a connection with Powroll, so one of their guys did it for me for a very good price. Just make sure to get your cylinder honed. You can't just "drop" a piston in, even if it is the same size as the stock piston.
