do u guys think a stock raptor will beat a 400ex with an lrd exhaust and K n N, and a 16tooth front sprocket?

 

Top end from what Ive seen Id have to go with the 400ex just because of the 16 tooth counter sprocket. Acceleration the rappy would win hands down. Ive seen it many times up hills and on the flats. I know this isnt a fair example but when it comes to the rappy vs 400 in acceleration ... My sister (on my raptor, weighin in at an incredible 90 lbs) raced my buddy in te dunes on his 400ex (k&n and 14 tooth front sprocket about 140 lbs) up a very SLIGHT hill for about 200 yards and beat him by (ready for it) 15 - 18 quad lengths. NO JOKE. Got it on tape. Now I know that wasnt the best example but you get my point dont ya.

 

400EX, the raptor is soooo tippy. My bro sold his 99' 400EX for a raptor and says that the 400EX had better handling. Not bashing, just trying to help

 

I'd take a z400 over a 400ex. Z400 against Rappy it comes down to the question of do you want speed or do you want agility.

 

I agree with Jackal. I got my z for the extra power it had over the ex plus it looks a heck of a lot cooler. I didn't get the raptor which I think looks better than the z because a lot of guys have them around here and no one had a z at the time. So I might get the raptor if I were you if everyone around you doesn't have one or you don't care if they do. The ex is still nice but not up to performance with the z and raptor.
Oh crap I just read the question better you're talking about a race, right. The raptor would blow the ex away through all the gears. In the final gear if you had a really long straight stretch without an incline the Honda might finally pull by the raptor on top end. Going up a hill even just with a small steady incline and I think the raptor would win easily. To much acceleration for the ex to handle.

 

too bad the 2004 ex will beat a z400 now b/c of the larger carb so i bet all you z400 idiots feel stupid now.
