Default 250ex help

i was wondering if a 300 or 400 EX axel would fit a 250 EX because i herd that the 250EX axels of weak and i dont want to get another bad axel. and i was woundering if bear claw tires on the back would affect the speed of the bike

I don't know about the axles but the bearclaw tires shouldn't decrease the top speed of your ex. I have 22x12x9 bearclaws on my recon and I didn't notice any loss of top speed but in the mud it was a little harder to spin them and I normally had to downshift to 1st gear. The bearclaws ae a very good tire and slide and spin way better then my stock recon tires did, but in the mud they bite way better.

No, that won't work. We've never had any problems with our axles and the kids are pretty hard on them. The axles are pretty cheap anyway, less than $100.

i dont know if you can change the axles because (i assume you did mean 250 EX not 250R) 250 EX's are shaft driven and 300 & 400 EX's are chain driven.

250EX axle weak? No way and is very similar to the Recon axle and with years of ride time on my Recon axle there is still no play in the bearings.

Durablue makes an axle for the 250EX that is 4" wider and stronger than the stock axle. If you really want to improve the hadling, change your front rims or get wheel spacers for the front.
