does it come with a spark arrestor? good pipe?

If your user name is indicative of what you ride, I think you're out of luck on the DMC exhaust system. I believe they are made only for 4 strokes. If you have, or can get, a copy of Feb. Dirt Wheels there is a test of the DMC on a 400ex therein. The stainless steel system can be ordered with a spark arrestor. It is priced in the $500 range for the complete system or $250 range for a slip-on silencer.

I also own a 2000 400EX and want the pipe for it.

 

Yesterday, I got back from Glamis. I rode most of Friday, all Saturday and Sunday morning ride on a '00 400EX with a FMF Power Core IV muffler. It was sweet sounding (too loud for trails) and I the power was a little better; it could loft the front end easier for pounding the whoops.

Anyways, back to the question. A guy in our group had full-DMC exhaust on his '99 400EX. He liked the power, but one of the headers sticks out too far and burns him. He said he has to run a 50/50 mixture of race gas and premium pump gas. It was louder than the FMF muffler, and the power was similar, as I could easily stay with him through the dunes and on the Sand Highway.

The DMC unit looks like a quality piece but the new Big Gun system has really grabbed my attention.

i can get a dmc with spark arrester for 489
good deal?

 

Where can you get one for $489. I would think the Dual whould let the motor breath better hense more power plus the double barrel looks much meaner.

i think factory racing has them. they even throw in the spark arrestor for free but the
discs are on a small waiting list.
