Practical or IMPractical?
#1
I've narrowed my choices down to a couple quads. I just have to decide if I should go practical or impractical (4x4 or sport). The little voice keeps screaming IMPRACTICAL but common sense keeps saying to go PRACTICAL. So, what do you think? Practical or Impractical

i wouldnt call it impratical...but more of a money pit, most people are more likely to want to modify sports, they (myself included) develope that speed addiction, and always want more. but i thought that from the begining, so the choice was obvious for me, but if you want to use it for utility purposes, dont get a sport quad, their utilty purposes are somewhat....uhhh......limited (or virtually non-existant) the choice for anyone is alaways left up to what you want to do with it.

As long as you don't plan on doing work with it or riding in extreme mud regularly, I vote impractical. Ya know i had the same debate with myself picking out my last car. Which quads have you narrowed it down to anyways??

I am also having the same dilemna, please help! The thing is, I know I would kind of like to use it like for light duties around the house. But I'm wondering If I would be disappointed with the speed.

90% of the time, I ride in more open areas where a 4x4 isn't needed. 10% of the time, I ride in mud and over big rocks combined with some open areas. It's not that it couldn't be done on a sport quad, it's just easier on a utility.
I had decided that I wanted to get a 400 sport. I really don't need to go 70+mph but 64+mph would be fun. If I go with a sport then the 400EX is at the top of my list. Because it's reliable (it's been out for awhile so no surprises), it handles good and I can buy one really cheap. If I can't buy a 400EX really cheap then enter the Z400. (I just want to do donuts.)
If I go with a 4x4 utility then I think I want a Rancher 400. (I'd like to stay away from the belt drives.)
If I decide to get a Rancher 400 I will probably wait a few months and try to pay cash. I'm just worried about the top speed of the Rancher. I'd like a utility to do at least 55mph. I also like the Foreman 450S and that could be bought cheaper than the Rancher.
So right now I guess it's the 400EX or Rancher 400.
Caution: My mind changes daily.
