The 300ex and the 400ex are totally different so you will have to define your riding requirements and experience.

 

i am a great ridder i go in the mudd fool around in the ditchs and in the feilds and i hit some jumps. but i would like to get into raceing.

 

What is a rever and what is a ridder? jk

don't worry man I suck a speling to I would recomed the 400 because a 300 is just not enuff power, specily if you want to get into racing. the difference of the two is like day & night different!!!
So go with the 400ex

The 300ex is weak and can't run with the 400ex, if you want to race get a 400ex. The reverse is nice, but the 300ex can't compare to the power of the 400.

 

Four Stroke tech sells a kit which lets a 300EX eat 400s for lunch.or so says dirt wheels magazine.
