I just bought a 2001 Honda 300EX, and it has dg nerf bars, renthal handle bars, and a hotbox. Anyways I was wondering if I got a good deal on it. I bought it for $2,600 and it looks, runs, and starts like brand new. Was this a good deal? Also I was wondering about the hp on it, I heard rumors that it only has 17hp, but that doesnt seem right, my 230 had atleast 17 if not anymore, but does anyone know the hp on it with a header, muffler, airfilter, and a hotbox? I was thinking 20-25hp is that right? If not tell me how much you think it has..

Honda 300EX stock is about 13.6 hp with a top speed of about 55 mph.
Yamaha Warrior stock is about 18.3 hp with a top speed of about 61 mph.

 

More than that...No way a 300 can only make 13.6 hp.. I was thinking it was more than 17hp..but maybe it is 17hp stock

 

stock they are producing way more than 13.7, i heard a couple people say 23ish.... ill look into it

The 400EX stock has a max hp of 26.5. This info is from 2002 Buyers Guide ATV Sport.

The Yamaha Blaster is listed as having 13.9 hp stock.

It's not just the hp that matters. Weight and gearing are also important.
