how do i remove the steering stem from a 300ex. we took the nut off the bottom and the plate from the top. Do i need some ball joint forks or something????????

 

When u say the plate from the top, do u mean the bracket that has 4 bolts and wraps around the stearing stem?If u mean that bracket,then u will probably just have to tap the stearing stem up from the bottom where the nut was.Be careful not to damage the threads.I usually just put the nut on so when u hit it ,u hit the nut and not the threads.It is hard to get out because it sits inside a bearing.
