just got a 400ex still breaking in . when i give it gas it makes a verry faint noise a mix of a chirp and a sqeele.
dose any body no what it is or how i can fix it or will it just go away once it
is broken in.

 

you could have an air leak on the headers or the muffler.

 

I have the same problem with my 400 ex loo kto see if something is lose in the wheels thats was waht was wrong wit mine

 

thers nothing rong with my wheels its only when i rev the engine or start to drive but it is very faint noise so i only hear it when im going slow.



if it is with my headers or muffler how do i find and fix it.??

 

Make sure all the bolts on the muffler and pipe are tight. Sometimes when mines cold i makes a whiny sound from the crankcase.

 

Stop riding right now. Your cam bearings are putting a thrust load on the rocker arms . Its probalbly to late the damage has been done. Your engine is full of metal shavings and riding it more than a few miles after you hear the noise will waste all of your bearings as well.

Im just kidding ,check for a loose exhaust. You want engine niose you should hear my cannondale at idle.

 

sh*t you realy had me going i almost had a heart attack.

 

Is your heart attack simlar to the feeling of meeting a sportsman700 while powersliding a blind corner. I would know that feeling.

 

i still cant find the problem and it only makes the noise when i start to drice but when i hold in the clutch the sound goes away.
