Default does a billet shift lever really make a difference?

my wife rides a 440 ex that is a very fast quad and she is trying to get better at her starts in a drag race but she is having a hard time with missed gears, does any one have any experience with a billet shifter and if so what do you think about it does it help.

they help if she is missing shifts because her foot is too small/short and cant get leverage on the shift peg. They make -1 shifters which make it easier to power shift

dabeechman-I think she is missing shifts because the stock lever seems to have a lot of flex in it so i am hoping that a lever that will not flex as much will work better for her.At the dunes this weekend she was beating all the piped raptors she was racing and that was with bad starts because of the missed shifts so hopefully this will help.At first my wife was not into the drag races but after we made her quad fast enough to start winning more than she was losing suddenly she likes it so i want to do everything i can to encourage her and this should be a step in that direction.

we went ahead and cut a stock shifter up an inch and welded it back together and you couldnt bend the thing if you tried. Takes a lot of the leverage out of it

stockrappy- does that mean that you doubt that my wifes 440ex is fast if so you probably have never ran against a properly set up 440 because when one is dialed in right a piped raptor is not too hard to beat with it just FYI.

duneit, leave the guy alone. He is having a reality check...yes he paid a lot for his raptor, no its not fast. So he hates on people who enjoy going fast.

You and your wife should ignore the idiots and get back to what you like doing
