Can't remember, buy isn't the XR600 air cooled??
An XR650 engine in a quad is my desert dream bike!! The XR has won Baja more times than anybody can count.

Dirt wheels did a project some time ago with a XR 650 motor in a EX chassis. They blew the dust off of it recently and splashed one of their phony cover stories "Honda 650 EX!!" or something just like the 450 Yamaha a month prior to release which was some old Warrior big bore.

I'm not sure the 650 would be all that much faster than a light little 450. But, the 650 has better power characteristics for cross-country riding and that engine is bulletproof!! A 450 for MX, and a 650 for XC. That would be a nice world!

Nope...they're gonna take the Rincon and turn it into an auto-tranny sport bike like the V-Force.........They already did their endurance testing in last years Baja race.

Enlarge some of those pictures. See all those fins on the head. Sure doesn't look like any water cooled engine to me??????????? The dirt bike is gone from the Honda lineup, and I think this engine is gone for good. I cetainly would not buy a low tech, air cooled thumper, no matter how big the displacement. I would never buy a warmed over Rincon either!!
There was a CBR project quad that was water cooled.
