Troubleshooting Problem ? ( 250R )
#1
Hey guys gotta a little problem hoping someone could steer me in the right direction .
1986 Honda 250R just put a new top end and a clutch into it , filled the rad up with antifreeze and with in 10 minutes into first ride the crankcase was full of antifreeze. changed the oil and tried again and the same thing happened. I've rebuilt quite a few bikes in the past ( sucessfully ) and have never seen this problem . Hopefully can give me some insight .
Thanks.

I'm thinking you mean the coolant is getting in the trans right? If so you have a water pump problem, a couple seals, a bearing, and possibly the impeller shaft if it needs it plus the cover gaskets should fix it.

Yeah , what I meant was that coolant is filling up my transmission case. Waterpump is in good shape I replaced all of the seals the bearing and the spring I am wondering if it could be coming in from the cylinder somehow. base gasket problem ??

No it can't come from the base gasket, it has to be the water pump. That is the only place there is coolant that can get in the trans. Look for cracks in the cover around the water pump but that would be rare...
