Default early plow questions

Hey guys,

I bought a new Rancher AT and one of the things that convinced my wife that I needed the auto was me telling her I could plow our road in the winter. I told her the auto was much easier than Honda's good ol' reverse procedure. After the hard winter we had in PA last year, she agreed. Now that I started to look for plows, I'm shocked. They seem kinda expensive. Any idea of how much I will be spending on a plow? Also, any brand suggestions? Any to definetely stay away from?
I know that is is going to be hard to find a plow right now because the AT is so new, but I am sure someone will have one before winter.
When I first bought my AT, I thought It was kind of tame. But that didn't bother me. Knowing I would own a Honda for many (hopefully) problem free years made me happy. But let me tell you, riding on Sunday for a couple of hours, I could feel the power in the auto mode come on alot stronger. Just give it a little gas and that rear would slide into the turns. Great time, great quad.
Thanks

P.S.- Yoda is for Toyota, NOT the Stars Wars little man

I'm in the same boat as you...I have recently purchased a Rancher AT and am looking for a winch and plow. Warn is not giving me an answer on the winch plate. Their web page says "To be determined". Oh well, guess we'll just have to wait. Same goes for the plow. It looks like the Moose is the way to go, but I'd like to use a winch to lift it. Let us know if you figure it out!

Also in PA,

I know a couple of people that have used the winch to plow and it is a curse. Some people like it and have no problems with it. My neighbor went through 3 winches and 5 switches the winter before he went to the hand pull. It heats the winch up too much and it won't hold the plow up. It probably isn't a problem with a small driveway or some place where you don't have the plow up and down a lot.

Not sure if this will help. I have a Rancher FM w/ a Moose manual plow. I live in Upstate NY. Also had a bad winter. I got the manual lift plow because of cost. ($ 400.00 ) roughly for the hole setup. I thought that I wanted a winch after a few snowstorms. But, The manual lift worked out to work well. You can lift the blade as needed. Easier than a winch style. You tend to do alot of movements w/ the blade. It's not just drop the blade - plow - then lift the blade. There is more too it, than that.
** also, your arms get a work out w/ manual lift **
P.S. - you'll be amazed on how much snow you can move w/ it.
Cyclecounty plow
Moose plow
I heard that Moose was a better plow so thats what I went with.
Hope this helps.........

I do think that the Moose is the way to go as far as brands go. Forgive the novice question but with the manual lift plow, do you need to get off the ATV to lift it or can you do it from the seat? I'm assuming that you need to get off and lift it. Also, how much of a pain it it to remove the plow after your done? How much time to install it?

Thanks,
Tim

After the whole plow is setup.
It take just minutes to install an uninstall.
2 cotter pins and spring loaded hook w/ a chain in the front of the plow.
If you put on yourself it may take up too 2-3 hrs to totally install. after that on / off is 5 minutes? maybe

Thanks for the info....do you need to get off the ATV to raise and lower it when plowing?

Thanks,

OOOOOh! Sh*t
I for got that.
NO - you don't Tim.
The only time you have to get off the machine is if you want to angle the plow Left or right.
