Default E series disk question

Ok i have a white bros E series on my 01 400ex it currently has 12 disks. i have been trying to do research on what to do with the disks to make it quieter and i am assuming that less disks makes it quieter. if so what is the lowest # of disk i can run how will less disk effect power (top end bottom end), will i need to rejet it. and also what about a quiet core insert has anyone tried that. i do not mind the sound but my neighbors do. i love the way it sounds and pulls i dont want to lose too much tourque. i dont have anywhere to ride that i have to be the fastest because i have the only thing bigger than a 300 utility quad in my neighborhood. so if anyone knows anything about this please post it.

6 disks had about half the hp of 12 but it made it quieter, heck i'd just keep all 12 in, your gonna get a ticket oneway or a nuther!

Default E series disk question

I read that 3 disks is the same flow as a new stock muffler. Reducing the plates increases the torque. Raising the plates = horses. I tried 4 different plate amounts with the E-series on four different quads. 7 disks seemed to be the best between horsepower and torque. That was at sand lake and all four quads were basically jetted the same. K&n with 160 to 170 main. Try changing the # of plates and ride it right after each time and see where you like it the most.

Default E series disk question

how is the performance running 12 discs?...did you jet?...

i picked up an eseries sbend and put it on as is and it seems to run good, but i'm wondering if i add discs and jet, will it increase power??

anyone have thoughts on that
thanks
tone

p.s. sucks you have to sacrifice power for sound

I have a friend who runs the quiet core and 12 discs (with the core, the discs are just the spark arrestor). Nice middle ground between reasonable noise and power.

Default E series disk question

it has plenty of powre with 12 disks it has a good pul all around. i am really concidering the quite core. yes it is jetted i am not sure off the top of my head what it is though i also run a k&n with outerware so i had to have it jetted. yes it does suck i have to make it quieter. i just wish i could find somewhere to ride around here i live in a rural area and most of my neighbors have quads and dirt bikes but there are a few old people that like to spoil the fun. i usually only get a chance to ride at night and i try to keep my rides short so it isnt too late but i still have to look out for the cops because they always seem to cruise my road when i go riding. the other night my buddy left from riding with me on his ol 110 turbocharged 3wheeler and he had his light off there was a car coming down the street so he pulled off and got behind a trash can and the cop drive by him he booked it after the cop was out of sight it is getting annoying the cops are getting bugged bout someone having fun when they could be doing something useful like eating doughnuts. :-)
thanks for all the advise guys. i am going to play with my disks tomorrow oh wait it is tomorrow but i know i will see bluelights at 12:40am lol
