Default Help - blowing main fuse on 400ex

Is there a typical area to look? Had a friend with the same problem and it went away on its own. My brother blew three fuses while we were riding (one burned as soon as we plugged it in). I am thinking it might be in the headlights since he never blew another after he turned the headlights off. I haven't done much checking yet. Thought I would ask in case someone can just pinpoint it as a "known" issue.

Thanks,

Jon

Check the headlight wires where they come out of the back of the light (underneath the rubber cap). There is often not enough clearance between the light and the frame, and the insulation will get rubbed off of a wire and cause a short. Seen it a few times!

Remember that the bike will still start by popping the clutch even with the fuse blown, so you still have a way to get home.
