Default 300ex suspension

Here is my question- I own a 300ex and everything is stock. In time I plan on doing some work to the motor to get more power. With the higher speeds I will be going i dont want the bike to be tipsy. Do you think a 300 will be more tipsy with higher speeds. should I widen the stance to help it out. What is the best way to widen the stance. I know prob. longer a-arms and axle, but the can get pretty expensive after buying shocks and everything needed to make setup work. Do you think it is nessesary to widen it up? Also could I just use wheel spacers? Please help!

A good and cheap way to widen up the front end is to put in 400ex parts, a arms, tie rods, shocks. they will bolt right in, you will have to relocate the top shock mount for the longer 400ex shocks to keep the front end geometry correct. I got mine off ebay for less than 80 bucks, just need to fab up top shock mounts for my son's 300ex. This will widen the front end about 3" and give you about 4 more inches of suspension travel. In back, you could put spacers on, or just get rims with a wider offset. Find a good uses Works shock for the back, and you will have a much more stable, controllable ride.
