the new R looks great but I too think that the 88 R was arguably the best looking bike ever!
anyone can say what they want about laziness or whatever but when youve ridden your @ss off all day its kinda nice to have electric start. i thought they would have put electric start on it even though its not necessary - just a little touch that every one else from cannondale to yamaha was/is doing...
oh well it wont stop me from getting one, though.
let the showdowns begin btwn the 450R and the YFZ!

It's nice to have if you accidently stall in the middle of a race too!!!! Especially in MX where it happens alot. I think that will make alot of buyers go yamaha.
just wondering -is your yfz450 holding up good? no problems?

I agree with you Ridley. Not all the time will it start on the first or second kick if it did stall. There are pros and cons for both of the YFZ and the new TRX starting procedures. For reliability reasons i would chose a kick starter tho. I think the kick starter would hold up to greater abuse. For example GNCC, there is alot of water; water could get into the electrical or battery failure if it isnt sealed up properly. Sure, electric start would be quicker and easier but what would you have to fall back onto if that failed. I personally would like to see both electric and kick start on a race quad. I think selector said when he took of his electric start it only saved him like 10 lbs. From what ive heard it isnt to hard to kick over the crf450 engine. I guess time will only tell which will perform better. What do you guys think??
