Procircuit T4 for 400ex, how are they?
#2
I put one on my wifes 400 and overall its not that bad. At the same time that I installed the slip on, I also put a K&N filter, re-jetted it, and ground out the head pipe welds. So the power increase was quite noticable, how much that can be attributed to just the pipe, who knows. It is quite a bit lighter than the stock pipe and it really looks nice on the bike. I had some minor trouble installing it, the holes didn't quite line up, so I had to grind them out a little bit to get the thing on, a minor thing really.
I bought this particular pipe because it was suposed to be under 95 db's, which is the limit out hear in CA in order to ride in OHV areas. first trip out and well, it wasn't even close, it test like 100db's. So if noise is no consideration this is a good economical pipe ( 220 from rocky mountian atv), but as far as pure performace you can do better, like sparks.

i did the same thing to mine
t-4 slip on
grinded out welds in header

i didnt have any trouble lineing up the bolts on mine
i like the t-4 pipe,
sounds really nice,i dont mind the noise,
and u can find a slip on for 189.00 if you look around.....
i noticed a little power increase
all in all the t-4 is a great pipe in my opinion

Yeah just the slip-on makes a noticable difference in torque. I'm not sure if the quad is really much "faster", but the torque is a lot better than stock. My T-4 was on my EX when I bought it, so I can only compare it do the couple times I road a stock one.
It's loud though....People who like ATV's will like the sound, but people who don't like ATV's will hate it, LOL. So if you live in an area that frowns on quads, I'd have to think twice about getting it.
CrayFish....a friend of mine has another insert on his T-4 that is supposed to quiet it down...have you tried on of those????

Josh,
Yes, I do now about that but i talked to the guys at PC and they said it would only reduce the noise by one or two db's. So I made my own, adjustable quiet core insert. used a piece of flashing for roofing, and cut out what looks like a big whasher, that will fit between the pipe and the end cap. The adjustable part comes from how I cut out the inner circle of this thing. started with a 1/8 inch hole, in the center and using a dremmel tool cut four lines strait out. This way I can puch close the little flaps to make it queiter and pass the test, then open them up again and all is good.

I use the Dyno Jet stage one jet kit. Not sure what they are to be honest. Starts just fine in the cold, for me. Well, you have to remember that I live in Ca and where I ride it never really gets Cold, its just not as warm and it used to be.
