I have a 350 rancher that is smoking really bad. The smoke is white. Can anyone help me, or give me pointers as to what to look for? [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/img]

 

hey ttom, I don't know much on your 350, but I am from Woodworth,La. were do you ride at. maybe we can go for a ride. I have a 2003 Honda Rancher Es 350 4x4. I love mine.

 

White moke usually means there is water in the system most likely you got water in the oil case. Try changing your oil then your gas. Hope this helps. Keep us informed as to whether or not this is the case.

 

Hey, I have a 2003 rancher es 4x4 too. I live about 25 min south of woodworth. Where do you ride? Do you go to la dunes, or have somewhere else?

 

I have not been to the dunes in awhile since they went up on the fees. I been one time. I go to camp calyborn, hornbeck,gardener, out in the woods past my house, and were every else I can find to go. I am always looking for new placese. want to ride one day let me know and we can make plans. I am off of work till sunday.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

I live near kaplan louisiana. I dont ride much anymore but would like to go ride agian. I have two bikes ,350 rancher and also have a 300ex.

 

I live near pitkin. We ride at a hunting club my buddies are in. I also have a friend at jena, and we ride down a creek up there sometimes. I just heard of a place at fullerton, called the enduro trail, and I will try it out soon. It's at the kasatichie forest. I'm helping a friend wire a house he's building after work, so I won't have time to ride for about 2 weeks. You kin to Jamie coates, or the coates around st.landry? I've never been to the dunes, I figured it was more for sport bikes.

 

The smoke is oil burning in the head. The oil is slipping by the rings you burned up.

Time for a rebuild. Piston, rings, and cylinder bore.

 

Burning oil is usually blue(yamaha)[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]. White smoke is usually water somewhere it shouldn't be. Ttom, did this start all of a sudden, like after burying the rancher in the mud, or has it been a gradual problem?

 

hey angry.. this problem started gradually,,,but got worse fast . must be an yamaha fan but honda will stay one top smoking or not ....lol...
