Default White Bro Exhaust

I have a 400 with White Bro E series muffler. I know that if I chance the baffling on it it will change the power also. But, I want to try to tone it down a bit. What do I need to do to achieve a little bit quieter muffler and what will that do to my power?

The more disks you take off the more top end power you lose but you gain more low end torque.

I have a e series on my 400 i am running 6 disks with quiet core i went from the full 12 disks it did lose some top end but not much the torque is still there though. my girlfriend has a stock 400 and it has nothing on the bottom end or top end on mine with that setup. I was not impressed with the quiet core i really couldnt tell a difference in the sound but since i already bought it it is in there no loss of power. you can also try repacking it if you have used it much it might help a little.

To repack the muffler just drill out the rivets around shell of silencer and remove insides replace packing with new and insert back in. put new rivets in and you are set i bought my packing and rivets off dennis kirk the october issue of dirt wheels i think has the detailed instructions. hope this helps. if you buy packing it does 2 re packs so i advise getting 2 packs of rivets.
