Default Greese and your ATV

Hey all....I just got a new ATV this year and I am wanting to keep it in tip-top shape to either pass on to my wife or sell for a bigger one next year....I was wondering...what needs to be greesed after a hard ride or two....it seems to me by looking at all the joints and pivot points that there is a lot of rubber there and not much greese may be needed in reality.

Kyperman;

I am either really dumb or just plain lucky but the only thing that I have ever done to my ATV's (All Honda's) was wash them, dry them, and spray everthing down with WD-40 including the fenders. Afterwards I just lightly wiped the remaining lube off with a towel and everything always worked fine!

Thats been my philosophy as well...the Ol standby WD-40....but I read somewhere that WD tends to dry out certain things and it's a good idea to greese pivot points ect....but being a complete newby to this...I don't like the idea of removing bolts and crap unless I know which ones really need the greese.

I just lube the chain, replace synthetic oil every three rides, and wash dry and use Honda Polish after every ride

One tip if you use lots of Water-Displacement 40. I use more than my share, buy it by the 1 gallon can and use either the WD-40 spray bottle or any garden spray bottle. It will save you a bunch of money. All of those 12 ounce cans can get expensive.

hondas have the sealed bearings for aarms,etc,etc. so all you would have to do is just wash it good every time you chuck it in the mud to be sure.

I love WD-40, but I do use plain old silicone spray for the exposed rubber bushings.
