Greese and your ATV
#1
Hey all....I just got a new ATV this year and I am wanting to keep it in tip-top shape to either pass on to my wife or sell for a bigger one next year....I was wondering...what needs to be greesed after a hard ride or two....it seems to me by looking at all the joints and pivot points that there is a lot of rubber there and not much greese may be needed in reality.

Kyperman;
I am either really dumb or just plain lucky but the only thing that I have ever done to my ATV's (All Honda's) was wash them, dry them, and spray everthing down with WD-40 including the fenders. Afterwards I just lightly wiped the remaining lube off with a towel and everything always worked fine!

Thats been my philosophy as well...the Ol standby WD-40....but I read somewhere that WD tends to dry out certain things and it's a good idea to greese pivot points ect....but being a complete newby to this...I don't like the idea of removing bolts and crap unless I know which ones really need the greese.

One tip if you use lots of Water-Displacement 40. I use more than my share, buy it by the 1 gallon can and use either the WD-40 spray bottle or any garden spray bottle. It will save you a bunch of money. All of those 12 ounce cans can get expensive.
