Go with the 250ex. I sell the least amount of parts for them. The 250ex will cost the least when they crash it. Go to parts fish .com and look up the prices of the parts for the Z250, Blaster & 250ex. You will find the lowest prices on the 250ex parts.

If I were in that situation I'd go with the 250ex. It has good power, is light, affordable, and you get that Honda reliability and no chain to mess with.
It's very easy to ride with the auto-clutch, and it's a small step from an auto-clutch quad to a manual clutch quad when you upgrade in the future. Hondas also seem to hold their value better in the used market.

I think the choice for you depends on skill level, how the quad feels, 2stroke vs. 4stroke, and lets not forget price. I would start looking for used because you will probably soon upgrade in a couple years.
Good luck!

well if you've only driven automatics with CVT trannys (ones where u just put in a range, give gas and go) i'd go with a 250ex, very easy to maintain and is semi-automatic(have to shift gears but no clutching), if you've driven semi-automatics b4 and did quite well with them then i'd go with a 300ex but you'd need to learn to use a clutch, which isn't all too hard, well good luck with watever you choose

i agree with 300exrider19. For how young you are, its a great quad. My brother has one, and i love it. There is no point to a 250ex. You would just have to step up again if you wanted a manual clutch. But, if a 400 is too big go with a Blaster, i love mine and i'm only 5'10" and weigh like 130.
