nah, 420 has nothing to do with my quad, lol, but im gonna get it bored out to 440 whenever i completly wear out the stock bore, the only thing bad about the 440 kits is that once you et it bored to 440, you have to get a whole new 440 kit everytime you rebuild the top end because there is no oversize 440 pistons so if you hve the stock bore and its still good, dont mess with it until its worn out unless you like spending money

Cro,

If I was you I would save up some more money and get your motor built right the first time insted of having a lot of problems because it wasnt done right the first time. After you save it is best to have one company aka Sparks, Ct, Lrd do all the work so it is reliable and if something goes wrong you know there was only 1 company that worked on your quad and you can take it up with them. Also when you do get the 440 I would reccomend porting, cams, high quality piston (11:1 or 12:5:1) compression should be good for the dunes and some of the other goodies. Trust me do it right the first time so u dont have to do it again!

good luck

awesome, thanx for all the info. i have one last qestion tho...do u know what the stock compression is for a 400EX? i run premium pump gas (i fogot what octane that is, i think it's like 91 or so) would that work with an 11:1 compression ratio? that is the most common ratio that i've seen.

Im pretty sure you can run pump gas, on my dale its a 12:5:1 compression but relly like 11:9:1 and I run 91 in it with no problems. Oh yea i think the stock compression is 9:6:1 or something close to that. But with the 12:5:1 you will have to atleast run half pump half 110 but you will get more power...

instead of mixing gas, could i jus add octane boost? also, where can i get a 416 kit, i think that might be better suited for my needs.

About the octane boost you can run it if you wanted to but I wouldn't reccomend it. Cirten adactives in there that the motor doesnt agree with. You could go to sparksracing.com for info on your 416 kit which I think they make the fastest 400's around or ctracing.com i think and look for ldr also...
