Why's everyone say the 300EX is so much better than the 250EX
I have been considering buying a new extra quad and prefer a honda. I can't see why everyone thinks the 300EX is so much better than the 250EX. I have looked at both and the 250EX is BIGGER than the 300 and in my opinion looks alot better (more modern). My question is it worth the extra $1000 to get the 300. I would be using it for trail riding only. I've ridden both and know the 300 is better suspended and has alot quicker acceleration as well as disc brakes, but the 250 isn't that slow and seems to stop well. I beleive its only like 5mph slower. I rarely ride at high speeds except on the road. And on the road both machines are pretty slow in my opinion. I just wanted to see if you all thought it's worth the extra grand to get the 300EX or not. I'm definitly not interested in any other brands or a 400EX.

Having had the 300EX in the past and reading the post, the 300EX might not be worth it for you.
You are saying "extra quad" which I think is the key. The 250EX would be a good extra Quad over the 300EX.

Why is the 300ex better????? The 300ex is way faster, quicker accelerater,of course better suspender, chain, manual clutch/transmission, Many better things add up to an overall better quad. The 300ex is a lot faster, with better handling and just as good, if not better stopping power. If you want a quad to just cruiz around on and not do many things on, then the 250ex is for you, if you want a quad thats sportier, jumps better, has better handling, is a better trail quad, faster, etc etc, then get a 300ex. And both machines being slow? the 250ex wasnt meant to be a top speed quad, and the 300ex is about as fast as you could get a 282cc quad to go stock.

The 250ex is alot less maintenance i put a pipe and jets in mine and have not had to do anthing to it sence. with out the chain you dont have to lube it or buy new chains/sprockets. on the other hands it doesnt have the speed or power the 300ex does.

Yes I will be riding this quad, but I mainly wan't it for something family and freinds can use to go out riding with me. The problem is that some are experienced and some are not. I just don't know if save money and get the 250 I will regret it in the long run. I rode both machines that other people I know had and I liked the 250 alot. It reminded me of the old my old ATC200 days with the auto clutch. I also liked the 300 with the good handling and lightweight. If they had more power I would like them both more than my Warrior. What do you guys think.

If random people are riding then I would get the 250EX. No clutch and no chain are big advantages IMO. The 250EX is kinda like an old Big Red. They are very simple and they have long term reliablity with very little maintenance. The 300EX is a great bike but they need some service and the clutch would suck if inexperienced drivers are always riding it.
