You dont even know

There is to many people that think the raptor is the best thing that is ever made. Well it probably isnt. there isnt even and reviews on it yet. Theres going to be so many people trading the 400ex in when the raptor might be a piece of crap. Dont forget the 400ex will always start and will live for ever unlike the raptor.

You should read your own subject name "you dont even know". While many people assume that the Raptor will be the greatest thing since sliced bread, you assume that it will be a piece of crap. One thing is sure to be true, it will be fast. There is no denying that it is a cool looking machine.

I agree. half the people think it is going to be the best quad on the market. The other half think it is going to be a piece of junk. I say wait until there are some reviews, and some test rides on it before you call it junk.
I can tell you right now that is is not going to be junk. But will it be the best...only time will tell, and I will wait before I say so or not.

Lurch,
I'm glad to see our little talk has done you some good. I can't wait for the first one to show up at my ride area. I'm gonna open up a serious can of woop**s on that 660r. What makes it all the much better? My buddy just put the money down on that over-stuffed turkey. See Lurch, I can RIDE. No bull****, no bench racing. And there ain't no amount of CC's or valves gonna make up for that. Son, I'm gonna have my eye on you, so you walk the straight and narrow when you're on this side of the site. -RT

Jealous of what? Your blaster? I don't want to sound like a jerk, but how can we be jealous of something that isn't even available yet? I have owned every brand of motorcycle/atv from the Japanese manufactures and I am not biased towards any one brand. We even owne a Blaster for 6 months. I will tell you they are junk. Playschool ATV. Right now there is a Banshee and an ATC250R in our garage, sold everything else to make room (money wise) for a new machine. It might be a Rapter, it might be a new kawi, it might be a used Banshee. It will not be a blaster.

The Yamaha will be fast. What remains to be seen is how it handles? Does it handle like a DS-650 or a 400 EX. If it handles like the DS-650. The 400EX will still rule in the woods.
Lets all wait until some reviews come out.

Looks like it will handle more like a Warrior, than a 400EX or DS650.... Width specs are closer (height much worse in most aspects, almost 4" of seat height!!)...
Raptor LxWxH x seat height
72" x 43.3" x 45.3" x 33.9"
Warrior LxWxH x seat height
72.4" x 42.5" x 42.5" X 30.1"
DS-650 LxWxH x seat height
77" x 50" x 46.5" x n/a
Blaster LxWxH x seat height
68.3" x 40.7" x 40.9" X 29.1"
400EX LxWxH x seat height
72.2" x 45.3" X 43.7" X 31.9"
It's only a little over 2" wider than a Blaster?! Looks like you will ride "on top" of the Raptor, while you ride "inside" the 400EX. Hopefully the Raptor specs are wrong or it will be another fast machine without handling from Yamaha.
