Default 250R Carb

1986 TRX 250R. I just put a 38mm air stryker on a Boysean rad valve manifold.
The air boot from the large side of the carb to the air box does
not even come close to fitting, angle, or alignment wise.
Any one else have a problem like this? What's the deal?
If I loosen and tweak the manifold rubber mount I can get the rear air boot to line up,
but then I don't get a good postive at the reed cage or the small side of the carb.

use a CR250 airintake boot. it has a different kick to it and is made to be used with a 38mm carb...get them from your parts subbly or from ESR. but befor you spend teh money try using a heat gun to soften the rubber

Default 250R Carb

Sorry I cant help, but I am very interested in how it turns out. I have heard a few people having that problem with it not fitting.

I was also considering using the ESR air filter and removing the the whole air box. Anybody have any experience with this? Im using a bored stock cylinder with some porting, would this be to much? I ride probably 75% dunes, and dirt the rest, no water.

Eventually, when the funds are available, I would like to bump up to a 330 or 350 pv, would a 38/39 carb still work for this setup?

Thanks in advance.

Heat the boot up in hot water. They all will bend together nicely sooner or later.

I have a 38A/S w/ Rad Valve & stock Air-filter boot on my Quad. Soak the boots in hot water for about ten minutes. This makes the rubber a lot more pliable & you'll be able to stretch it onto the carb. I've been running mine for Two years without failure.
